Established in 1985 by Richard and Mary Walsh, Ballycotton Seafood Ltd is a family
owned seafood business. We have developed our business based on providing the
freshest produce and quality artisan seafood using the best of locally caught fish and
natural ingredients. Today we have our own boats in addition to having a number of
boats that land their catch exclusively to Ballycotton Seafood.
We are not just fish mongers; Ballycotton Seafood is a one stop shop for your fish
and seafood requirements. We have our own smokehouse where we employ age old
traditional techniques when smoking fish. Our traditional techniques have passed from
one generation to the next and this continuity ensures we provide premium smoked
fish. Ballycotton Seafood Smoked Salmon is sold through our own shops to hotels and
restaurants, local wholesalers and caterers as well as being exported across Europe.
We now employ over 60 people in our state of the art processing plant and retail
outlets. To ensure we maintain our standards we have continually invested in our
business through the years. We have a fully licensed fish plant on the shores of
Ballycotton Bay. We have the necessary food safety management systems to ensure
that the fish landed and delivered to us is handled and processed to the highest
standards thereby ensuring that it is in the best and freshest condition when it reaches
our shops and customers. We have four fish shops located in the Old English Market
Cork, Midleton, Glanmire and Garryvoe. We supply the food service sector in Ireland
locally and nationally; and we export to Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal and the UK.
