SOFRIMAR

Sofrimar was established in 1979 to harness the abundant supply of shellfish and whitefish landed
at Kilmore Quay with a view to supplying key European markets, particularly France. The name
itself is an acronym, standing for Societe France Irlande de Maree. Sofrimar offers a wide range of
shellfish and whitefish in various formats (live, chilled, cooked, pasteurised, MAP, frozen).
        FACILITIES
Currently, Sofrimar has a HACCP approved factory with extensive cooking, chilling, freezing, cold
storage and processing facilities for a diverse range of shellfish and whitefish. Our facility reflects
our commitment to investing in the plant and the technology
        we use.

        PRODUCT INNOVATION
Sofrimar has a strong track record in developing and launching new and innovative products.
Working closely with existing customers, constantly monitoring market changes and with a
dedicated Research and Development Facility, Sofrimar is ideally placed to take advantage of
shifting consumer trends and technological advances in the market place.

        QUALITY STANDARDS
Sofrimar is committed to producing the highest quality seafood for customers and consumers.
Working in close partnership with approved fishermen, Sofrimar can guarantee the freshness of raw
material, as it is sourced from day boats landing at Kilmore Quay and other local ports along the
        coast.
        SUSTAINABLE FISHING
Sofrimar works in collaboration with all key stakeholders, none, more important than the fish and
shellfish suppliers. The foundation of this partnership rests on the need for sustainable fishing to
ensure longevity for all involved in the Sector.
