Sustainability Credentials:
Walsh’s Bakehouse is a verified member of Origin Green and has
maintained a key focus on sustainability over the last number of years.
In 2017 they opened a new state of the art bakery which permitted an
increase in production levels. Even with these raised outputs, they are
currently 12% ahead of their gas reduction target, 6% ahead of their
electricity reduction target and ensure that raw material and product
packaging sourced is 100% recyclable. Social sustainability is also
a core value for Walsh’s Bakehouse. Students from the local youth
reach centre are given the opportunity to complete work placements
at the site annually and local GAA clubs and charities are supported
throughout the year.
