Supplier requirement and ordering procedure
All producers must comply with national legislation, complete a supplier
audit questionnaire, and supply documentary evidence of their food safety
systems. Suppliers can be subject to a site audit by Lynas Foodservice.
Supplier terms are agreed with Category Managers and orders are placed
by the Supply Chain Department.
Orders are placed via email and goods are received into the Coleraine depot
from 7am – 2.30pm.
Geographical spread
The main depot is in Coleraine, Co. L’Derry, which has over 65,000 sqft of
warehousing space incorporating 4,500 frozen pallet spaces and 2,500
chilled and ambient spaces. The overall site is 3 acres in size.
Distribution covers all counties in Ireland and Lynas Foodservice is now
distributing in central Scotland with sub-depots in Dublin, Galway and
Glasgow.
Fleet size
The fleet consists of over 100 lorries (15-18 tonne), all of which are multi
temp vehicles offering customers a ‘one stop shop’ delivery option.
In the past 12 months, the business has added 11 Double Deck trailers, 25 x
18 tonne lorries, 8 multi-temperature vans and 7 tractor units to its fleet.
All vehicles are wholly owned by Lynas Foodservice and it does not use any
other courier or transport companies for deliveries.
All lorries are tracked, enabling Lynas Foodservice to know their
specific locations which is analysed in real time. Each lorry also has two
temperature probes in the frozen and chilled compartments that can be
monitored via satellite.
